The Audio Bible ministry "Faith Comes By Hearing" has just released its application Bible.is in Arabic. The application already exists in English and Spanish. Now, accessing the Bible will be easier for the more than 221 million Arabs.
The ministry is working on other translations, as part of its goal to make the application available for the 20 most widely spoken languages ​​in the world.
The location of the application was a process of partnership with the Bible Society of Egypt. Funding was provided by the Ministry Awards 2010, presented by the lawyer and Capital.
Since the ministry began the project of Digital Bible last year, the Arab state has consistently among the five languages ​​most accessed across multiple platforms, proposed by the ministry.
Besides the application Bible.is, the ministry makes its audio Bibles available for free via podcast on iTunes as well as streaming and download directly from their site.
Faith Comes By Hearing currently has audio Bibles in 538 languages, 188 are available for reading and listening through the application, making the Digital Bible Project the world's largest resource of recordings and texts of the Bible.
"Today, technology has created access points for spreading the Word of God like no other time in history," said Troy Carl, national director of the ministry, who also oversees the design of the Digital Bible.
"The possibility of Sacred Scripture are freely available for all to hear is not just a hope, as rapidly becomes a reality."
About half the world's population, or can not read or live in an oral culture. Besides the project Bible.is, Faith Comes By Hearing is working to make the Bible is available in the heart language of all nations, tribes and peoples.
The ministry's goal is to record the audio of the Bible in 2000 languages ​​by 2016, creating access to the Gospel for 97% of the world.
